August 16, 2018
It is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for a new and exciting school year. The first day of school will be August 29, 2018.
As I am sure you are aware, I will be serving in the capacity of Acting Superintendent. I am humbled, eager, and prepared to take on the responsibilities and challenges of my new position. For the past 35 years, I have been a proud member of the New Castle Area School District as a teacher and administrator. I have had the opportunity to work with many inspiring colleagues and families throughout that time. I look forward to the expansion of my new role as your Acting Superintendent of Schools.
The first days in any new position can be both the most rewarding and yet the most challenging. The leadership transition within our District must be a smooth process for all of our students, parents, staff, administrators, Board of Directors, and community. While we currently have many inititatives moving in positive directions, the timing of this transition is also an opportunity for us to evaluate our District's progress and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
Whether your student is in elementary school, junior high school, or senior high school, you can expect a skilled and passionate staff committed to your child's learning and growth. Each of our schools serves a distinct school community and provides the resources, programs, and instruction tailored to that school community. Our school also works with strong parent-teacher organizations and community partnerships so that your child is both challenged and supported .
The staff of the New Castle Area School District is committed to unfolding the potential of every child. Together as a team we will build a strong foundation.
Debra A. DeBlasio
Superintendent of Schools
