General Information

Moving forward, the District will utilize existing and emerging technologies to provide the following:
  • enhanced educational opportunities that support 21st Century teaching and learning
  • improved communication.
  • easy access to information.
  • optimized administrative and building-level operations.

NETWORK
We have a wide-area-network running at gigabit speeds over fiber optic cable which connects our four buildings in a metro area. The wide area network allows services to be centrally located and shared consistently with all end users. Of our four building, three have building-wide wireless networks.
SERVERS
We use a mixture of physical and virtual servers. As time permits, our physical servers are being migrated into our virtual environments which are based on VMware and ProxMox running on Intel Modular Servers.
WORKSTATIONS
The majority of our workstations operate Windows 7. We also use N-Computing devices running on Windows 2003 Servers in seven of our computer labs. We have five carts of Chromebooks, two carts of Nooks and ten laptop carts also available. In all, there are eight labs at the High School, four labs at the Junior High School, three at the Intermediate School, and two at the Early Learning Center.
INTERACTIVE PRESENTATION SYSTEMS
Our Senior High School has ceiling mounted projectors and uses conventional whiteboard presentation systems manufactured by Promethean. Our Junior High school has a projector cart in the bulk of the classrooms, and many teachers utilize the Onfinity portable interactive whiteboard system. Our Intermediate Elementary school has a projector cart in each classroom with an Onfinity system for interactivity. Additionally, our Early Learning Center has short throw projectors mounted in each classroom with built-in interactive capabilities.
