Art in Motion
Once the blueprints were designed, students poured a plaster base and read an article on Alberto Giacometti and his human sculptures. Giacometti was inspired to show the sad, malnutritioned, human condition during the aftermath of WWII, loosing family and support. He made his sculptures out of bronze with bumpy, jagged texture.

Students then built sculptures out of craft sticks and masking tape for the texture. Students had the option to paint it black w/ gold highlights to mimic his bronze metal OR choose any color and highlight it with white. The final projects are vibrant and active; it is fun to see the actions that the students have chosen!
