Mr. Cook's Reading Class Works Together... Building a Lifeboat
Mr. Cook's SFA class had fun working together to build a lifeboat. Students in Mr. Cook's SFA class are reading Titanic, by Gordon Korman. The class completed a lifeboat project. Each group received aluminum foil, 35 marbles and a tub of water. The objective was to construct a lifeboat out of a 15 inch sheet of aluminum foil that would float in water while holding the 35 marbles (which represented people). Students in each group had to work together to design an operable floating device. The groups used trial and error, critical thinking, as well as team work skills to succeed in completing the objective.
