Fourth grade students at GW celebrated holidays around the world and invited their families to join in on the experience!
In the morning, students completed a virtual escape room, during which they learned about holiday traditions in Germany, France, Israel, Mexico, Russia, and England. Then each student made their own German-inspired treat.
Next students and their families shared their own holiday traditions with one another during a festive celebration, where the families joined together to talk about different cultural holiday traditions, share family pictures, and create beautiful ornaments.
A special thank you to Jacqueline Perez, GW’s Spanish speaking interpreter, for contributing many special additions to the celebration. She provided popcorn, cotton candy, and a beautiful backdrop for family photographs to be taken. During the celebration, Mexican hot cocoa and sweets were shared; pictures were taken; and families were able to make connections with each other.
A huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Abraham-Lagnese, Mrs. Dovidio, and Mrs. Quahliero, too, for planning such a great day for our fourth grade students!
