Junior / Senior High Library

My name is Mrs. Rosemary Maggie, your Jr./Sr. High School Librarian.  I would like to welcome you and your children to our library.  I am looking forward to working with our students, and I am so happy that I will be able to help our students explore the library and discover what it has to offer them.

VISION STATEMENT:  The vision of the New Castle Jr./Sr. High School Library is to seek to create a 21st century environment that promotes learning for all students by providing access to information and to encourage lifelong reading.

MISSION STATEMENT:  The mission of the New Castle Jr./Sr. High School Library is to provide students with the opportunity to become not only lifelong users of information, but also creators of information.  The library will support the curriculum by collaborating with teachers, developing a collection that is representative of the community, and providing the resources that students need to succeed academically.

MY GOAL is to:

  • Cultivate lifelong readers who find joy and knowledge from reading books and other media.
  • Collaborate with teachers  that will encourage student interaction both with print and electronic resources.
  • Create a learning environment that provides every student access to technology as well as the knowledge of how to use it effectively and ethically.

To help monitor this goal, there will be 3 short term SRC promotions and 2 year long promotions. Information and dates about the promotions can be found in the students’ Library Google Classroom.
