COMMENCEMENT TICKET DISTRIBUTION

Friday, June 2nd is the device collection, Senior Breakfast, and Graduate Walkthrough at all NCASD schools. Please note that this is for ALL students regardless of how they receive instruction – whether you attend school in-person, are on New Castle Cyber, or receive Homebound instruction, you MUST come into the building on Friday to return anything that belongs to NCASD, receive your Commencement Tickets and information, and participate in the Graduate Walkthrough.

Seniors are to report to the cafeteria at 7:30am to begin this process. In addition to your school-issued devices, novels, textbooks, etc., please make sure you bring your cap and gown with you. The District will provide buses to transport you from building to building for the Graduate Walkthrough. Thank you!
News & Announcements

Xfinity Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)

At Xfinity, we believe everyone deserves access to home internet service, and we're proud to share that we've helped more than a million customers get connected to fast, reliable internet service and save on their monthly bill through our participation in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).  This government program provides eligible households a monthly credit of up to $30 ($75 for Tribal lands) toward internet and mobile services.

Households are eligible for ACP if:
  • Someone in the household participates in certain government assistance programs such as Lifeline, SNAP/EBT, Medicaid, or receives free or reduced-price school lunch; or
  • The total household income is at or below twice the federal poverty level (for example, $60,000/year for a family of four or $29,160/year for an individual).

3rd 9 Weeks Honor Roll

Congratulations to our Senior High students who made the Honor Roll for the 3rd 9 weeks! Click on the link below to view the lists:

Food Truck Face-Off

Students in Mr. M. Bongivengo's and Miss Wiseman's Today's Foods classes had a "Food Truck Face Off" as their class final project for the end of the semester.  Students were asked to work together in teams to create a food truck business including the type of food they were going to sell, a catchy slogan, a menu, job responsibilities for each group member on the truck,  and marketing materials; then finally, they had to design the food truck itself.  Students used lots of STEAM principles to create their trucks and utilized recycled materials to build them.

Superintendent Ross and Principal Mr. Litrenta, along with Mr. Beshero, graciously judged the students' projects using specific criteria.  The winning group will be receiving gift cards donated by Mr. Bongivengo and Miss Wiseman for a job well done!

NCASD Graduation Pathways (Class of 2023 and Beyond)

Along with satisfying the course requirements listed in Policy 217, students must also satisfy the Keystone Exam requirements established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in Act 158 of 2018. Students are expected to take the Keystone exams that are associated with the identified NCASD Keystone Courses (Algebra I, Biology, Literature 10). If a successful score is not obtained on any of the Keystone exams (Pathway #1), students can meet the graduation requirement through one of the pathways described in #2 through #4 in the attached letter.
