Dress Code

The Board of Directors of the New Castle Area School District has the authority to impose limitations on students’ dress in the school, and the Board has established and implemented an apparel policy which sets forth the students’ dress throughout the District.

Notwithstanding the aforementioned dress apparel policy, students may be required to wear certain types of clothing while participating in physical education classes, technical education, extracurricular activities, or other situations where special attire may be required to ensure the health or safety of the student.

The building principal or designee shall be responsible to monitor student dress and grooming and enforce school rules governing student dress and grooming in accordance with the District’s apparel policy.

The Superintendent or designee shall ensure that all rules implementing this policy be in accord with the District apparel policy and be imposed to all students k through Grade 12.

School apparel must be a flexible response to an ever-changing educational landscape. Therefore, the Board, Administration, and Apparel Policy Committee shall meet periodically to examine this policy and the style in order to meet the changing dynamics that constantly occur in the District.
